After going through the new qualification process with ITRA, we can now finally confirm that Trans Scania finishers will be rewarded with four qualification points for UTMB – Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc®. The Race Info page has been updated.
Despite the fact that not all details are in place yet, the registration has now been opened due to popular demand. The start of the race will be in Bjärred and the finish in Lund, just like the last few years. Transportation from Lund to the start can be arranged for those who need it.
We’ve decided to keep the same registration fee as last year, 800 SEK, but a high quality running t-shirt is now included in the price.
Starting 2014, Trans Scania will be organized by the non-profit association Löparföreningen Lejonbragden. We’re a friendly group of people with a passion for well organized races. The association was originally started to bring the first 100km race in Sweden, Lejonbragden, back to life. Pär Sikö, the current Trans Scania organizer, is a founding member of our association, and when we heard he wanted to pass the stewardship of Trans Scania on, we immediately signed up.
Our ambition is to change Trans Scania as little as possible, but to provide more and better information before, during and after the race. Having successfully organized Lejonbragden twice and helped out with Trans Scania the last couple of years, we’re confident we’re up for the task.
More information about the race, like maps, will be added to the site in the coming months.
Please leave a comment or contact us if you have any questions. We’re looking forward to making sure Trans Scania lives on for many years to come.
